As it was done in Spain, Chinese Internet users that enjoy online gambling will have a points system that, in the case of minors, will limit the time they can spend in front of the computer. The reason is the fight against the Internet addiction that many young people suffer from. So, from next July 15th, the companies that offer this kind of games will have to register their users.
This way, over 31 million Chinese players of the Net, will be registered, and they will have to enter their name and identity number each time they want to play a game.
To put this initiative to work, Peking leans on the fact that 10 percent of those players are minors that can easily fall into the Net’s addiction, as it happens to 2.3 of the 18 million Internet users that are under 18. Such a high number is worrying since the Asian gigantic, with 137 million users, is the second country in the world with most Internet users, after the United States. There have been registered deaths of addicted players due to extenuation in front of the screen.
The idea is to limit addictions to Internet, so the companies that offer this kind of recreational services, will have to get a special software that will allow them to identify the users, who will get points to be able to play.
