Gamblers beware. This month, two people leaving Charles Town Races and Slots have been robbed of their winning. Police said they are not sure whether the incidents are related. In each one, gamblers leaving the casino were attacked in Loudon County, Virginia before being robbed.
The first incident occurred on May 2nd when the victim was rear-ended by a blue Cadillac.
When both drivers got out of their cars, the robber attacked the victim and stole close to $2,000.
During the second robbery, a woman having car trouble was robbed of more than $3,000 by a man in a yellow pick-up truck who stopped to help her.
“We are working with the security staff up at Charles Town, at the race track, and looking at some tapes and talking with them and trying to find out if there`s any kind of connection with these two cases," Sheriff Steve Simpson from the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department.
It doesn`t appear to be, but we`re certainly looking. It is awfully coincidental,” said Simpson.
Coincidental, but police have to look at what they have, and so far, that`s differing descriptions of both the vehicle and suspect by the victims.
