In 2006 the new businesses related to gambling and advertising on supermarkets could make Televisa have $100 million dollars in revenues, which would mean a growth of 11%, according to US consultant firm Merrill Lynch.

In a special report developed with regards to the next release of Televisa Group’s three new businesses, the expert Michael Kopelman said that, however, the “earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization” (EBITDA) and cash-flow for 2006, due to an expenditure of 250 million pesos planned for stock purchase options and losses estimated in 712 million pesos, derived from the first months of operation of La Sexta, the TV channel that Televisa possess in Spain.

Kopelman also warned that the new businesses of Televisa could contribute positively in the EBITDA until the beginning of 2007. The expert said that, “among the three new business, the one who is more likely to succeed is gaming, which could become a significant value generator for Televisa within the next years. Moreover, we believe that Spain is an interesting opportunity, although in a lower scale than the gambling business”, published DINGNews.com.

Specialists have predicted that Televisa will release bingo and other businesses related to the upcoming World Soccer Cup, and that’s why Televisa has already signed contracts with Multimedia Games and Scientific Games.
